Bucephalandra Brown Amanda is a popular aquatic plant species originating from Borneo, Indonesia. Here are some key characteristics and care requirements for this plant:Appearance and Growth:

  • It's a small, slow-growing epiphytic plant with attractive foliage
  • Leaves can display various colors, including shades of brown, green, and purple, often with a metallic sheen
  • The plant typically reaches a maximum size of about 2 inches

Unlike virtually every online store all of my Buce Brown Amanda is grown submerged (unless noted). This makes the transition to your tank easier. This particular variant has been growing submerged in my tank since 2020.

I originally bought these emersed and have been careful in keeping each variant in it's own tank. I am not an expert at distinguishing variants of buce as a lot are very similar but I can guarantee that at least I'm passing along what was sold to me with the correct name.

Pests & Algae

I do have snails in my tank.I do my best to pick off what I see. Duckweed have invaded a few tanks but most plants will be free of duckweed. Older leaves may have a bit of algae but I typically clean up all plants before shipping.
