The Orange Eye Golden Backline Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) is a selectively bred yellow Neocaridina with a bright golden stripe down its back and striking orange eyes. The orange eyes are the standout trait, giving it a sharper look than standard Yellow or Golden Backline shrimp. Hardy, peaceful, and active, it is an easy way to add a high-contrast color to a planted tank or a dedicated colony.

Care Requirements: Easy to keep in a cycled, mature tank. Neocaridina tolerate a wide range of water parameters and do well in most tap water. Provide moss, plants, and hiding spots, and feed a varied diet of biofilm, algae, blanched vegetables, and shrimp pellets. Like all shrimp, they are sensitive to copper and ammonia spikes.

Tankmates & Behavior: Peaceful colony shrimp. Pair them with other Neocaridina, small snails, and peaceful nano fish. Avoid larger or predatory fish, which will eat shrimp and shrimplets. Do not mix with Caridina or Sulawesi shrimp, which need different water.

Parameters: Temperature: 65-80°F | pH: 6.8-8.0 | GH: 6-10 | KH: 3-8 | TDS: 150-250 | Difficulty: Beginner

I do have snails in my tank.I do my best to pick off what I see. Duckweed have invaded a few tanks but most plants will be free of duckweed. Older leaves may have a bit of algae but I typically clean up all plants before shipping.
