Bucephalandra Brownie Purple

Rating is 5.0 out of five stars based on 1 review

Bucephalandra Brownie Purple is a popular aquatic plant belonging to the family Araceae, native to Borneo. It is well-suited for both beginner and experienced aquarists due to its low maintenance requirements.

Unlike virtually every online store all of my Buce Brownie Purple is grown submerged (unless noted). This makes the transition to your tank easier. This particular variant has been growing submerged in my tank since 2020.

I originally bought these emersed and have been careful in keeping each variant in it's own tank. I am not an expert at distinguishing variants of buce as a lot are very similar but I can guarantee that at least I'm passing along what was sold to me with the correct name.

    Very pretty plant!

I'm new to buce and I have bought a couple of these. They are stunning underwater. Their adult leaves are a dark green/blue/purple color with small white dots. New leaves are a red/pink color. It is a very slow growing plant but they are doing well and never experienced any melt in either of them while getting used to my water.

    Pests & Algae

I do have snails in my tank.I do my best to pick off what I see. Duckweed have invaded a few tanks but most plants will be free of duckweed. Older leaves may have a bit of algae but I typically clean up all plants before shipping.
