Yes. Once it settles in it is a hardy, low-maintenance plant that grows in low to moderate light without CO2. It is a great choice for beginners and low-tech tanks, needing little more than a nutrient-rich substrate and the occasional root tab.

Crypt melt is normal. After planting or any change in water or lighting, the old leaves can dissolve while the roots stay alive. Do not pull the plant out. Leave it in place, keep dosing, and it will push out fresh leaves that are adapted to your tank.

It is a root feeder, so it does best in a nutrient-rich substrate with root tabs to fuel the roots. CO2 is not required and it grows fine without it, but adding CO2 along with stronger light gives faster growth and a fuller, more compact clump.

Its narrow, grassy leaves suit the midground or background of the aquarium. Plant it in the substrate with the crown just above the soil line, give it some space, and over time it spreads slowly by runners to form a soft, textured clump.

Bury the roots in the substrate but keep the crown, where the leaves meet the roots, just above the soil so it does not rot. Add a root tab nearby, avoid moving it once planted, and give it a few weeks to settle. It roots in and fills out best when left undisturbed.
