Cryptocoryne Costata

No reviews

Cryptocoryne Costata is a hardy, rosette-forming crypt with narrow, wavy green leaves that create a soft, grassy look in the mid to background of a planted aquarium. Like other Cryptocoryne, it is a rooted plant that feeds heavily from the substrate, so it does best planted in nutrient-rich soil with root tabs. It is undemanding once settled, growing in low to moderate light without CO2, though added CO2 and stronger light produce a fuller, more compact clump. Newly planted crypts sometimes melt back as they adjust to a new tank, then push out fresh growth from the roots, so be patient after planting. Perfect for aquarists who want an easy, low-maintenance plant that fills in over time and adds fine texture to the aquascape.

I do have snails in my tank.I do my best to pick off what I see. Duckweed have invaded a few tanks but most plants will be free of duckweed. Older leaves may have a bit of algae but I typically clean up all plants before shipping.
