Echinodorus Rose Echinodorus 'Rose'

No reviews

Echinodorus Rose is one of the most visually striking sword plants available, producing new leaves in gorgeous shades of pink, rose, and reddish-bronze that mature to olive-green. Developed by Hans Barth in Germany, this hybrid creates a stunning focal point with its color-changing foliage. Reaches 10-14 inches, making it a manageable centerpiece that won't overtake your tank.

Care Requirements

Easy to moderate. Best coloration develops under moderate to high lighting - low light results in mostly green leaves. Benefits from CO2 but not required. Heavy root feeder like all swords - use nutrient-rich substrate or supplement with root tabs regularly. Iron supplementation enhances pink tones.

Placement Tips

Ideal midground to background centerpiece. The rosette growth pattern and moderate size work well in 20+ gallon tanks. Plant crown just above substrate level. Position where lighting is strongest to maximize the rose coloration on new growth. Pairs beautifully with green plants that contrast the pink tones.

Parameters:

Temperature: 70-82°F | pH: 6.0-7.5 | Lighting: Medium-High | CO2: Beneficial | Growth: Medium | Difficulty: Easy-Moderate

  • Higher light intensity and iron-rich fertilization promote the best pink coloration. New leaves are always most colorful - older leaves naturally fade to green.
