Hygrophila Araguaia
Hygrophila Araguaia (Hygrophila lancea 'Araguaia') is a compact, slow-growing stem plant with small, narrow leaves that shift from olive green to warm bronze, copper, and reddish-purple under strong light. Because it stays small and grows slowly, it is one of the few stem plants that works as a foreground or low midground accent, adding fine texture and color where taller stems would overwhelm.
It rewards a high-tech setup: bright light, pressurized CO2, and steady iron and nutrients bring out the deepest color and keep growth tight and compact. In lower light it survives but stays greener, leggier, and slower. Plant the stems individually and slightly apart, trim to shape, and replant the trimmings to build a dense, colorful patch over time.
