L134 Leopard Frog Pleco
The L134 Leopard Frog Pleco (Peckoltia compta) is a highly sought-after dwarf pleco species prized for its intricate spotted pattern and manageable size. This stunning catfish features a golden to brown body covered in dark leopard-like spots, creating a mesmerizing appearance that stands out in any aquarium setup.
About Our L134s. Our L134 stock is imported, but unlike most online sellers we hold and condition our plecos in our Omaha, Nebraska fishroom for months before offering them for sale. Every specimen clears our full 3-week quarantine protocol, acclimates to stable water conditions, and is grown out toward adult size. Our long-term goal is to establish an in-house breeding colony from this stock, the same way we did successfully with our L397 Alenquer Tigers.
Unlike common plecos that grow over a foot long, the L134 remains small, maxing out at approximately 4-5 inches, making it perfect for medium-sized aquariums. Native to the Tapajos River in Brazil, these peaceful bottom dwellers are excellent additions to community tanks and thrive in well-maintained environments with plenty of hiding spaces.
L134 Leopard Frog Plecos are primarily carnivorous, preferring protein-rich foods like sinking pellets, frozen bloodworms, and occasional algae wafers. They appreciate driftwood in the aquarium, which aids their digestion. These plecos prefer temperatures between 77-86°F and slightly acidic to neutral water (6.0-7.5 pH).
