L333 King Tiger Pleco
The L333 King Tiger Pleco (Hypancistrus sp.) is one of the most visually striking dwarf plecos in the aquarium hobby, featuring bold, contrasting black and white vermiculation patterns that resemble a tiger's stripes. This premium species is highly coveted by pleco enthusiasts for its stunning appearance and relatively small adult size.
About Our L333s. Our L333 stock is imported, but unlike most online sellers we hold and condition our plecos in our Omaha, Nebraska fishroom for months before offering them for sale. Every specimen clears our full 3-week quarantine protocol, acclimates to stable water conditions, and is grown out toward adult size. Our long-term goal is to establish an in-house breeding colony from this stock, the same way we did successfully with our L397 Alenquer Tigers.
Reaching approximately 5-6 inches at maturity, the L333 is perfectly sized for dedicated aquarists looking for a centerpiece bottom dweller without the space requirements of larger plecos. Native to the Rio Xingu in Brazil, these plecos are cave dwellers that appreciate dimly lit aquariums with multiple hiding spots.
Unlike algae-eating plecos, L333 King Tigers are carnivorous and should be fed high-quality protein foods including sinking carnivore pellets, frozen bloodworms, and brine shrimp. They thrive in warm water (78-86°F) with excellent filtration and prefer slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0-7.5).
