Narrow Leaf Vallisneria (NANA)
Narrow Leaf Vallisneria (Vallisneria nana), often labeled Vallisneria NANA, is a hardy, grass-like plant with very thin, ribbon-shaped leaves that sway gently in the current. It is one of the easiest background and midground plants to grow, spreading quickly by runners to form a lush green curtain along the back of the aquarium. Vallisneria nana thrives in low to high light and does not require CO2, making it a favorite for beginners and low-tech tanks. Its fine, narrow leaves stay more compact than standard Vallisneria, so it also works as a grassy midground in smaller tanks. Plant the crowns in the substrate, leaving the base exposed, and it will send out runners to fill in over time. A tough, fast-spreading choice for anyone wanting a natural, flowing green backdrop.
