Echinodorus cordifolius (Radican Sword) is a classic, impressive sword plant featuring large heart-shaped leaves that can dominate any aquascape. Native to North and Central America. Fast-growing and extremely hardy.

Care Requirements

One of the easiest large plants. Tolerates wide range of conditions. Does not require CO2. Heavy root feeder - provide nutrient-rich substrate or root tabs.

Placement & Planting

Strictly background or centerpiece due to large size. Needs substantial space - minimum 40 gallons recommended. 'Marble Queen' variegated variety is especially popular.

Parameters

Very large - can exceed 18-24 inches in height with individual leaves up to 12 inches long. Needs significant tank space.

Pests & Algae

I do have snails in my tank.I do my best to pick off what I see. Duckweed have invaded a few tanks but most plants will be free of duckweed. Older leaves may have a bit of algae but I typically clean up all plants before shipping.
