Orange Sunkist Shrimp are a popular choice for aquarium enthusiasts due to their vibrant color and active nature. These shrimp are known to be hardy and easy to care for, making them a great addition to any tank. They are often used as a natural cleaner, helping to keep tanks free of debris and algae. Sunkist Shrimp are active during the day and enjoy hiding in plants and decorations, creating a beautiful and lively display in any aquarium. Sunkist orange shrimp are considered a lower grade and have less opaque shell compared to pumpkin shrimp.

Neocaridina can tolerate a wide range of water parameters, in our case we can use Omaha NE tap water.
Imported

Imported can get a bad rep. They are typically a lot cheaper than homebred but travel a long distance. Several of my imports come from Taiwan to California to Nebraska. As you can imagine this stresses out shrimp and casualities are common.

Neocaridina imports typical come from outdoor farms. Variables aren't as easily controled. Water parameters can be pretty extreme to what we as hobbyist keep. I've measured parameters to be 18 GH, 12 KH and close to 400 TDS from the water they are received in. My water parameters for Neos comes from Omaha tap water and is typically 8GH 8KH TDS 250.

What makes Aqua Atomic Imports different?

I quaratine for a minimum of 2 weeks. I find most of the shrimp casualities happen in the first 10 days. However I still offer the shrimp at a much cheaper cost than homebred.

Homebred

Homebred are typically 2+ generations removed from any shrimp import. Hobbyist have to be vigilant in culling to maintain high grade colors. Imports typically are high grade and no culling is needed.

Two weeks later and the shrimp are doing great.

Communication was fast after my purchase and arranging local pickup was easy. The shrimp were in good shape when picked up. Two weeks later, they have acclimated well to my tank and are doing well. I am setting up a few shrimp tanks and will be buying more from Aqua Atomic.

Pests & Algae

I do have snails in my tank.I do my best to pick off what I see. Duckweed have invaded a few tanks but most plants will be free of duckweed. Older leaves may have a bit of algae but I typically clean up all plants before shipping.
