L236 Super White RB Line Pleco
Last import date: 10/21/26
The L236 Super White RB Line Pleco (Hypancistrus sp. L236) is one of the most sought-after dwarf plecos in the hobby, known for its bold black and white vermiculated pattern, often called a cracked zebra pattern. The Super White selection leans toward more white in the pattern, and the RB line is a captive-bred strain developed by hobbyist Robert Budrovcan, who first spawned L236 in captivity. Native to the Rio Xingu in Brazil, this compact pleco tops out around 4-5 inches, which makes it a true centerpiece fish for a dedicated tank.
About Our L236s. Our L236s arrive as roughly 1 inch juveniles and go through our full 3-week quarantine protocol in our Omaha, Nebraska fishroom before they are offered for sale. They are acclimated to stable water conditions before they ship.
Like most Hypancistrus, L236s are carnivorous and should be fed protein-rich foods such as sinking carnivore pellets, frozen bloodworms, and brine shrimp. They are not algae eaters. They do best in warm, well-oxygenated water with good flow, around 78-86°F and a pH of 6.0-7.5, with plenty of caves because every fish wants its own territory.
