Anubias Congensis

No reviews

Description

Anubias Congensis is a stunning variety with distinctive elongated, lance-shaped leaves that set it apart from the round leaves of other Anubias species. Native to tropical Africa, this robust plant can reach 12-24 inches in height, making it an excellent mid-ground to background specimen. The bright green, pointed foliage creates an elegant focal point in any aquascape.

Care Requirements

One of the most forgiving aquarium plants available. Thrives in low to moderate lighting - actually prefers shade to prevent algae growth on slow-growing leaves. No CO2 required, though supplementation promotes faster growth. Adapts to wide range of water parameters and is virtually ignored by herbivorous fish.

Placement & Planting

Attach to hardscape (driftwood, rocks) rather than burying in substrate. The rhizome must remain exposed - burying it causes rot. Use super glue gel or thread to secure. Best as mid-ground accent or background in 20+ gallon tanks.

Parameters

Temperature: 72-82°F | pH: 6.0-7.5 | Lighting: Low-Moderate | CO2: Not Required | Growth: Slow | Difficulty: Beginner

  • Typically indicates nutrient deficiency (iron/potassium). Add comprehensive liquid fertilizer. Old leaves naturally yellow and can be trimmed

Pests & Algae

I do have snails in my tank.I do my best to pick off what I see. Duckweed have invaded a few tanks but most plants will be free of duckweed. Older leaves may have a bit of algae but I typically clean up all plants before shipping.
