Cuphea Anagalloidea
Cuphea anagalloidea is a delicate stem plant originally known as 'Rotala sp. Araguaia.' Endemic to Brazil, it's the first Cuphea in aquariums. Under strong light, upper leaf surfaces develop brilliant scarlet to orange-red while stems remain green.
Care Requirements
Demanding - for experienced hobbyists. Requires high lighting, CO2 injection, and consistent nutrients. Prefers soft, slightly acidic water. Grows strictly vertical.
Placement & Planting
Best in midground groups as dramatic color accent. Plant multiple stems together. Brilliant coloration contrasts beautifully against green plants.
